Route 66 2010

Beginning on Thursday, January 14th, our goal was to honor God's word by reading it aloud as a church family. We finished the reading during worship on Sunday, January 17th. Below are some picutres of our time and some comments.

Comments

#1 Route 66

I was very surprised at how powerful the experience was. The Word of God is truly "Living".

#2 I was blessed to read about

I was blessed to read about David, Saul, and Johnathan this morning at 2:00 am. I was expecting to read for quite some time since the 2-5 am schedule was not full (void of readers). To my amazement, several people showed up to make sure the reading continued. At one time, 13 people were present listening and prepared to read this early morning if needed to keep us on track and to support anyone who might grow weary. In addition, I had forgotten that fifteen minutes is such a short time and when my time has been up, I have not been ready to stop reading the word. It has carried me through the day and is much different than bedside reading. I hope you are as blessed by this journey as I have been.

Looking forward to my next time slot,
Andy

#3 Route 66

I enjoyed listening to the Boyer family read the Bible together. What a cool thing to have a window into a great family time of walking with God together.

#4 Reading Leviticus

Just finished reading part of Leviticus. As I read all sorts of repetitive details about sacrifices, removing mold or dealing with other contaminates, I am so grateful for the beauty and simplicity of Christianity! Christ fulfilled this law and has freed us from a very legalistic system. Thank you, Jesus!

#5 An exciting start

It was exciting to be a start of the journey this morning. I look forward to good things that will come. It is also encouraging just to listen to this while I work.
