God Doesn't Care
Have you ever felt that way? If you have, then you are in good company. Moses, David and a host of others have thought that God doesn’t care and is oblivious to the situation in our lives.
The people of Israel had been languishing in brutal Egyptian slavery for hundreds of years. It says in Exodus 2:23 that the Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out. For all of us who have felt abandoned by God at sometime in our life, it is important to know how God responded to the plight of the Israelites. In an unbelievable series of actions, we find that not only does God care, but He is intimately aware of the difficult situations in our life.
In the midst of God calling Moses in Exodus 3, God reveals His knowledge of the dilemma of the Israelites. God says “I have seen (3:7), I have heard (3:7), I am concerned (3:7) and I have come down” (3:8). Later on in the chapter, it says that the cry of the Israelites has reached God and He has seen the Egyptian oppression. While the Israelites may have thought that God had abandoned them it was quite the opposite.
So the next time we think that God doesn’t care or that He is unaware of our circumstances, then let us keep in mind that God sees, God hears, God is concerned and God is thoroughly aware of every event that takes place in our lives. Does God Care? YES HE DOES!
